HOME ART PORTFOLIO ARCHITECTURE PROJECTS ABOUT CONTACT

Hi, my name is Alec Gerhardt and I am from Groton Massachusetts, which is 47 miles west of Boston.   I just completed my freshman year at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island where I was studying architecture.  After completing a year of taking architecture classes, I have found my interests in my long term career have become clearer and this major is no longer suitable.   I have decided to focus on engineering which was my second choice last year when looking at colleges.   I now plan to study mechanical engineering at the Francis College of Engineering at UMass Lowell.  Roger Williams was a great experience, but as a smaller school it did not offer the breath of engineering disciplines offered at UMass Lowell and the service learning providing hands on experience which is very appealing.

I am an active in art, music, a variety of sports and scouting.  I am a member of the Order of the Arrow Grand Monadnock Lodge and just received Vigil Honor in a ceremony on May 15th, 2011.  For the past five summers I worked at Camp Wanocksett in Dublin, New Hampshire at the bottom of Mount Monadnock.
